Day 5 Walking around the Isle of Wight

A short day of just under 10 miles for our fifth and final day of walking around the Island. We started the day in Chale at the Wight Mouse Inn where we stayed overnight and after a very big breakfast set off back along the coastal path towards Blackgang, then on to Niton, St.Catherine’s and down into Ventnor before the last bit back to Bonchurch to complete the circumnavigation of the Island.

Once back up onto the Cliff paths we could see down into the Black Gang Amusement park which we visited so many times when the boys were young.

Just a bit further on and we could see St.Catherine’s lighthouse so we knew it wasn’t far until we passed through Niton and onto St.Catherine’s village and the post office for a coffee.

From St.Catherine’s it was through the village and back onto the Coastal path at Woody Cove. We followed the cliff top path all the way to steep hill Cove and then the short distance to Ventnor and the Spy Glass Inn for a well earned beer or two 😊

Leaving the Spy Glass we walked along the sea front one and half miles back to our starting point in Bonchurch to finish an excellent five days walking. Where next?
