Glyder Faw and Fach with John and Alex (plus some zipping)

Up to Snowdonia to watch John do his Zipwire followed by a walk across the Glyders the next day.

Day one on 30th September was all about John doing the velocity zip wire at Zip World near Bethesda in North Wales.

Really well organised and while John zipped Alex and I had beer….. 🙂

First trial zip… look at the rain!
The big one.. more rain!

Potential 100mph… he came back with a fat lip from being hit in the face by rain at that speed! :):)

Stayed at Tyn-y-Coed hotel and following three beers at Zip World (John had one) we had four more and a really good burger dinner at the hotel. A good day ending with overnight in a bunk bed room!

Day 2 was a bit damp with low cloud and our destination was to do the Glyders loop, last time I did this about six years ago we ended up bailing down bristly edge in high winds and torrential rain which wasn’t any fun, this time the weather was still a bit dodge with wind, rain and low cloud. Still didn’t manage to navigate across the top very well but all went well and we completed the walk in about 5.5 hrs with a cup of tea at the bottom before driving home. Need to go back and explore the top and potential routes for a couple of hours.
