For our second trip we decided to go to the New Forest for three nights staying at Denny Campsite which was about 1.5 miles out side of Lyndhurst.
This is a very basic campsite with no facilities apart from a water bowser for fresh water and a grey / black waste cess pit. We were able to park in a lovely spot with loads of room around us.
Randomly I only have one photo from these four days!!

Site Fees were £13.40 per night.
Total cost for the three nights was £135 = £33.75 per day
218 miles of fuel cost £50.78p (inc. above) with average MPG of 28.5…
Day 1, Tuesday 13th August weather was sunny and 24*.
On the way down we visited Winchester which had a park and ride with spaces especially for motorhomes which is a Rare thing!
A really lovely City (big town with a cathedral…)
We arrived at the site at 14:45 and spent the afternoon sitting by the van in the sunshine before I went off for a 5 mile run through the forest which was rather excellent followed by a very nice pasta dinner.
Day 2, Wednesday 14th August, which was a bit wet even if it stayed quite warm, we spent cycling a circular route which took us down to Brockenhurst and up to Lyndhurst before returning to the Van. I completed another short out and back run along the forest tracks followed by a Prawn and Chorizo dinner 🙂
Day 3, Thursday 15th August was similar to yesterday and we cycled down to Beaulieu for a coffee and back again along a slightly different route which was very nice.
Day 4, Friday 16th we left for home with a direct route home although the traffic was very bad and it took us ages!
